Dow Chemical raising prices on isocyanatesDow Chemical Co. is hiking prices on April 1 for two polyurethane curatives in the U.S. and Canada,The company said it will boost prices by 10 cents per pound on Voranate toluene diisocyanate and five cents per pound on methylene diphenyl diisocyanate sold in the U.S. and Canada. Tight supply and volatility in raw material and energy costs were blamed for the increases. The firm last raised TDI prices on Oct. 1, 2006. |

Permira takes over BorsodchemIn the next few days, the English associated company Permira will completely take over the Hungarian chemicals Group Borsodchem. At the end of the month, the fifth-largest share of the Hungarian central index Bux will be taken off the stock market. Dow Polyurethanes to acquire Hyperlast and AutothaneDow Polyurethanes has announced that it plans to acquire UK polyurethanes elastomers systems business Hyperlast Ltd. and Autothane Ltd. the manufacturer of automotive suspension components, pending regulatory approval. Graco selects RIM Polymers for BetaCell distributionGraco Inc., Minneapolis, MN, USA, has selected RIM Polymers Ltd. to distribute the company´s Gusmer-Decker BetaCell polyurethane equipment to automotive original equipment manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region. “RIM Polymers has a long successful history in the Asian Polyurethane equipment market,” says Jeff Johnson, director of sales and marketing for reaction injection moulding products, adding that RIM Polymers currently distributes Graco´s mixing heads in Asia.
