Momentive sells NXT Z Silanes in United States

Momentive Performance Materials, Wilton, CT, USA, announced that its NXT Z family of silanes is now commercially available in the United States.

NXT Z silanes have been formally registered on the US Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) list and registration is underway globally, including in Europe, Canada, China, Australia and Japan.

Momentive’s newest coupling agents for silica tires, NXT Z silanes are essentially ethanol free and offer the potential for one-pass mixing and shelf-stable silica compounds. Excellent candidates to enhance the wear, traction and rolling resistance properties of silica tires while dramatically reducing emissions, four NXT Z silanes are currently available in the United States: NXT Z 30 silane, NXT Z 45 silane, NXT Z 60 silane and NXT Z 100 silane. Momentive will also offer these four silanes in powder form, carried on carbon black.
