KraussMaffei has improved the pumps it uses in its polyurethane metering systems. They are now more fitted for their specific job than other pumps on the market, says the company. What’s more, KraussMaffei is now making these pumps itself. Customers profit from the longer service lives of the company-made pumps. Pump maintenance and spare parts supply are now fast and uncomplicated, with pumps available immediately from the company's factory.

Simmons gains CertiPUR-US certification

Simmons Bedding Company announced that all of the polyurethane foams in the company's mattress lines have earned the CertiPUR-US certification seal, verifying that the foams are low-VOC and free from ozone-depleting CFCs. The certified foam products are made without PBDE fire retardants, lead, mercury, formaldehyde, prohibited phthalates and other potentially harmful materials.

Stepan to increase polyols prices

Effective 15 June 2010, Stepan will increase prices for US-sourced Stepanpol rigid, aromatic polyester polyols by USD 0.06 per pound. Furthermore, Stepan Europe has announced third quarter price increases for all European Stepanpol aromatic polyester polyols of EUR 100-150 per tonne, effective 1 July 2010.
