Eco board material made from recycled polyol for the foundry industry

Rampf Tooling has expanded its tooling board product range for the foundry industry. The new eco board, predominantly produced from recycled material, is available under the name Raku-Tool WB-1450. Not only is Rampf Tooling offering a sustainable material but also a very tough material with an abrasion resistance of 80 – 90 mm³/100R (Taber) which is especially suited for applications in the foundry industry.

Technology

Fire-retardant TPU for consumer electronics

Huntsman has developed a new fire-retardant, halogen-free TPUs that complies with current safety standards for cable jacketing materials used in the IT and consumer electronics sector. Complying with key criteria set out in the European RoHS directive and US VW1 standard, Irogran A95P5003DP is said to meet demand for a durable cabling material that is free from hazardous substances.

Technology

Continuous production of PU-insulated pipes

KraussMaffei Berstorff is now offering complete systems for continuous production of PU-insulated pipes.

Technology

Low pressure machine for TPU systems

TPUs find use in applications requiring toughness and high resistance to abrasion, lubricating and fuel oils, combined with a wide range of operating temperatures.

Technology

Cost effective metering and dispensing

Edge-Sweets Company (ESCO) has developed the new ECD Basic Series metering and dispensing machines.

Flow assurance solutions

Dow Hyperlast celebrates its 25th anniversary in providing flow assurance technologies to the oil and gas industry. According to the company, it pioneered flow assurance and insulation technology 25 years ago and has since been involved in more than 500 successful offshore projects. Its polyurethane systems provide extended service life, very good thermal insulation, outstanding adhesion, proven impact strength and durability in harsh working environments, says the company.

Technology

New PIR foam system with enhanced fire behaviour for metal-faced sandwich panels

Sandwich panels comprising two metal facings and a polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid foam core have long been used for the efficient thermal insulation of large warehouses, cold stores and other industrial and administration buildings. Bayer MaterialScience has now come up with a new, more environmentally compatible PIR foam system with significantly enhanced fire behaviour that has benefits over established systems, especially when it comes to smoke gas development. The new PIR foam system is based on a polyester with an eco-friendly manufacturing process.

“Green” and competitive – a contradiction?

Some years back the “green” marketing concept was born. It was fashionable to promote products based on renewable resources. The marketing efforts had paid off in a way that more and more consumers were actively looking and choosing products that offered a piece of mind for consumers in the form of a certain renewable content of final products.

Technology

Non-migrating plastiziser based on renewable resources

With the new polyol Albodur 110 VP, Alberdingk Boley GmbH from Krefeld, Germany, has launched a new generation of low viscous plasticisers and reactive diluents on the market. The polyol can replace plasticisers which might pose health hazards in existing PU systems, says the company.
