New partnership in the polyurethane and rubber industry
Biesterfeld (Hamburg, Germany), one of the leading international distributors of rubber products, is entering a new partnership with POLYTEK Development Corp (Easton, PA, USA), a leading manufacturer of specialty polymers for mold making and casting applications across industrial and consumer sectors.
With immediate effect, Biesterfeld will represent and promote the rubber product lines suitable for molding applications in different areas such as the medical sector, construction and restoration, product design and manufacturing, education and art, DIY and makers and entertainment in all European countries except UK.
Thanks to the new partnership with POLYTEK, Biesterfeld is adding an extensive range of complementary silicone grades, polyurethanes, latex and thermoplastic elastomers to their rubber portfolio. The products have a hardness degree from shore 00-20 to 80 shore D and are characterized in particular by their great flowability, heat and chemical resistance, and the ability to be pigmented.
Due to these properties, they can be used in various applications, especially in the molding sector. For instance, POLYTEK fulfils an important purpose of application in the medical sector. Because of the colour and texture of the products, they can excellently simulate human skin and can therefore be used to develop applications that are used by surgeons when learning medical procedures. Other fields of applications include prosthetics, special effects and theatrical makeups (masks) and fine arts (sculptures of varying look).
