Woodbridge opened two new plants in China

Woodbridge (with corporate headquarters in Mississauga, ON, Canada and automotive headquarters in Troy, MI, USA, recently celebrated the grand opening of two state-of-the-art joint venture (JV) manufacturing facilities in China. These plants are designed to produce a wide range of high-quality products, serving the needs of various manufacturers across the region. This marks a significant milestone in Woodbridge's commitment to delivering innovative solutions and meeting the evolving needs of the company’s customers.

New JV Manufacturing Plants

  • Guangzhou Woodbridge Automotive Components Co., Ltd. is in Guangdong Province, China. The JV facility covers an area of 13,000 square meters and includes two molded foam production lines specifically for light and commercial vehicles. Production commenced on May 15, 2025. The plant employs nearly 250 teammates and was relocated from the Huadu District to be closer to its customers.
  • Woodbridge (Changzhou) Components Co. Ltd., located in Jiangsu Province, China, is a JV facility covering an area of 5,000 square meters. Production started on May 16, 2025. The site manufactures molded foam to support Woodbridge's regional original equipment manufacturers, and production is expected to increase as new customers are acquired in the coming months. The site employs 60 teammates.

The event was attended by Woodbridge's President and CEO, Kai Jacobsen; Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Julie Correia; Senior Vice President, Technology and Innovation, Mike Irwin; Vice President, Asia, Bill Drury; JV partners; teammates; and distinguished guests.

Jacobsen noted, “The launch of our new facilities in Guangzhou and Changzhou marks a significant milestone for Woodbridge. With state-of-the-art technology and a highly skilled workforce, we are committed to enhancing operational efficiency and expanding our diverse range of service offerings across the region.
