Reported shutdown of Rozenburg MDI unit tightens prices in EMEA

Huntsman has halted production at its #2 MDI facility in Rozenburg, Netherlands due to a technical issue.

According to Chinese-news service PU Daily, Huntsman’s 280,000 tonnes per annum MDI unit at Rozenburg, Netherlands, was shut down around 21 November 2025 following an unexpected equipment issue.

PU Daily says the outage is expected to last at least a month and has already pushed polymeric MDI prices in Europe and the Middle East up by around €100 per tonne.

In an earlier version of this story we wrote that a second MDI line was running at reduced capacity. A spokesperson for Huntsman has confirmed that this is not the case, and we are happy to set the record straight.
