Zant Accessories currently operates a facility in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone, and the new investment aligns with its strategy to expand production capacity and enhance Bangladesh’s footprint in global foam and comfort product markets.

Zant Accessories Limited has signed a land lease agreement with the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) to establish an export-oriented industrial unit in the National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ) in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The company plans to invest approximately Tk 80 crore (about US $7.6 million) to construct the facility on five acres (two hectares) of land.

The proposed factory will produce polyurethane foam, polyethylene foam, rebonded foam, mattresses, pillows, comforters and shoe insoles for export markets. Production is scheduled to begin in May 2027, according to BEZA.

Zant Accessories said that approximately 90% of its raw materials will be imported from China, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. The company noted that the development will prioritise environmentally conscious production, with comparatively low water and electricity consumption and no use of natural gas in the plant’s operations.

At the signing ceremony in Dhaka, Saleh Ahmed, executive member (investment promotion) at BEZA, and Md. Tafazzal Hossain, chairman of Zant Accessories Limited, formalised the agreement. BEZA praised the project as an example of sustainable, export-oriented industrial growth in the National SEZ, aimed at attracting both domestic and foreign investment.

The National Special Economic Zone, overseen by BEZA and located in the Mirsharai area, is part of Bangladesh’s broader effort to build a globally competitive industrial hub. Around 17 units are already operational in the NSEZ, with another 24 under construction.
