Stepan will increase prices for Stepanpol and Terate rigid polyester polyols sold in North America effective April 1, 2026, or as contracts allow.
Steapan said it will raise prices by $0.05 per pound ($0.11 per kilogram) across the Americas portfolio of Stepanpol and Terate rigid polyester polyols, citing the “continued escalation in raw material costs.”
Rigid polyester polyols are widely used in polyurethane systems for insulation and other rigid foam applications, where formulators have faced persistent cost pressure tied to upstream feedstocks. Polyester polyols are typically derived from glycols and aromatic acids/anhydrides, and 2026 market signals point to firm pricing for several of these inputs—such as phthalic anhydride and purified terephthalic acid (PTA)—which can tighten producer margins and drive price actions downstream.
Stepan has previously described selling-price increases as a mechanism to offset higher raw material costs, underscoring its intent to maintain margins while continuing to supply the polyurethane value chain.
Conversion note: $0.05/lb = $0.11/kg (0.1102/kg, rounded)
