German manufacturing technology company Frimo has entered into a strategic global technology partnership with China's Chango Group, initially focusing on plastics welding technologies and related manufacturing solutions.
The agreement brings together the two companies' expertise in plastics processing, automation and industrial manufacturing, with the stated aim of expanding their international market presence and broadening the range of technologies available to customers.
Frimo, based in Lotte, Germany, supplies equipment and production systems for plastics manufacturing, including technologies used in polyurethane processing, while Guangdong-based Chango specializes in advanced manufacturing, automation and welding technologies.
According to the companies, the partnership will combine Frimo's application know-how, engineering expertise and global market reach with Chango's manufacturing capabilities and automation technologies.
"Our customers increasingly expect highly flexible, tailor-made and scalable solutions, that combine efficiency and sustainability with long-term competitiveness on a global level," said Hans-Günter Bayer, chief executive officer of Frimo.
"By combining the strengths of our organizations, we are creating new opportunities to serve international markets even more effectively while maintaining the high quality and engineering excellence for which Frimo is recognized."
The companies said the cooperation will support technology exchange, joint development projects and closer collaboration in selected industrial sectors. Customers are expected to benefit from access to a wider range of manufacturing technologies and greater flexibility in production solutions.
For Chango, the agreement is intended to strengthen its international presence and expand its network of industrial partners. Frimo said the partnership supports its strategy of maintaining global competitiveness while pursuing innovation and sustainable growth.
The companies are also evaluating additional opportunities for cooperation in related technologies and industrial applications. These discussions include the possibility of a future investment by Chango as part of the long-term development of the relationship.
"This partnership is built on mutual respect, complementary strengths, and a shared vision for the future," said Alex Jiang, chairman and chief executive officer of Chango Group.
"Frimo and Chango each have a long history of technological innovation and industrial excellence. By combining Frimo's heritage dating back to 1962 with Chango's development since 1996, we are creating a strong foundation for future growth, innovation, and value creation for customers worldwide."
