Univar Solutions acquires Interpur Chemicals
Univar Solutions has acquired European polyurethane and powder coatings distributor Interpur Chemicals, expanding its technical capabilities and geographic coverage across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Eighteen Interpur employees will join Univar Solutions as part of the acquisition.
Barcelona, Spain-based Interpur has more than 20 years’ experience supplying raw materials and providing technical consulting to the polyurethane, resin and powder coatings industries. The company also operates through businesses in Italy and the UK and has representatives covering Central and Eastern Europe.
Its polyurethane portfolio includes polyols, isocyanates, blowing agents, flame retardants, amine and metal catalysts, chain extenders and other additives and intermediates.
Interpur will become part of the Performance Materials business within Univar Solutions’ Ingredients + Specialties division. Univar said the acquisition would combine Interpur’s regional market knowledge and technical expertise with its own supplier relationships and distribution network.

Matthew Oliver, senior vice president of Performance Materials at Univar Solutions, said the company was responding to growing demand for materials used in high-performance applications. He added that the acquisition would increase its ability to support customers at the formulation and application level.
