Miracll postpones Yantai ETPU and PUD projects

Both projects are now scheduled for completion by Dec. 31, 2027, rather than June 30, 2026.

The ETPU project is designed to produce 10,000 metric tons/year in two 5,000 metric tons/year phases. Construction of the first phase was substantially completed by the end of 2025, and trial production began during 2026.

Miracll subsequently halted the commissioning work to modify the process after initial products failed to meet all the required performance specifications. The modifications have been completed, and the company said product quality reached the project’s targets in July. However, the longer-than-expected trial-production period has delayed the overall construction schedule.

The second project will provide 30,000 metric tons/year of waterborne polyurethane capacity through four production lines, designated A to D.
Construction of lines A and B was substantially completed in 2025. Line A has passed trial production and met its product-quality targets, while line B is undergoing further process adjustment based on experience gained from commissioning the first line.

Equipment procurement for lines C and D is continuing. Miracll originally intended to use established imported production equipment but subsequently began working with Chinese suppliers to develop domestic alternatives and reduce construction costs. Technical discussions and equipment-selection work took longer than anticipated, the company said.

The projects are intended to expand Miracll’s production of higher-value polyurethane materials. The ETPU plant will use specialty isocyanate raw materials produced within the group, while the waterborne polyurethane project will move production from pilot scale to automated industrial manufacture.

Miracll said the revised schedules do not change the projects’ planned capacities or intended use.
